Smart Account ERC 4337
let’s quickly go over the concept of a Smart Account and how it plays a crucial role in automating your blockchain activities.
What is a Smart Account?
A Smart Account is a specialized blockchain account that allows Otomato to perform specific actions on your behalf, securely and efficiently. Unlike traditional wallets, a Smart Account is enhanced with session keys that permit certain predefined transactions while keeping your assets secure. This non-custodial approach ensures that you remain in full control of your funds, with Otomato only able to execute the actions you explicitly authorize.
Why Do You Need a Smart Account?
For Otomato to automate a Smart Account is essential. It acts as the engine behind your automations, enabling Otomato to interact with the blockchain on your behalf, exactly as you’ve instructed, without needing continuous manual input from you.
How to Set Up a Smart Account in Otomato
Now, let’s walk through how you can create a Smart Account and start automating your strategies.
1. Create Your Automation Flow
Start by setting up your automation within Otomato. This could be anything from "Deposit USDC on AAVE" to more complex strategies. Don’t worry if you don’t have a Smart Account yet—you can still create your automation first.
2. Run Your Automation
Click the Run button once your automation flow is ready. This tells Otomato that you're ready to automate the process.
3. Authorize Actions via a Popup
A popup will appear, asking you to confirm the specific actions Otomato will be able to perform on your behalf. For example, if your automation involves depositing USDC into AAVE, the popup will clearly state:
✅ Allowed: Deposit USDC on AAVE
🛑 Not Allowed: Withdraw USDC, deposit other tokens, or transfer funds elsewhere.
This ensures you have complete transparency and control over what Otomato can do.
4. Confirm and Create Your Smart Account
Click Confirm to approve these actions. If you don’t have a Smart Account yet, Otomato will automatically create one for you at this step. This is where the magic happens—your Smart Account is now ready to handle the automation tasks.
5. Fund Your Smart Account
First-time Automation: If this is your first automation and your Smart Account doesn’t have any funds, you’ll need to top it up:
Copy the Wallet Address: The system will display your Smart Account’s address for easy copying.
Deposit Funds: Use the interface to select the blockchain, token, and amount you want to deposit. This process is designed to be intuitive, much like using popular exchange platforms.
6. Success! Manage Your Automations
After depositing funds, you’ll be redirected to your Wallet page, where you can view and manage your Smart Account. Your automation is now live, and Otomato will handle everything from here.
