The Email Action block allows users to send customized email notifications as part of their automation flow. This block is especially useful for setting up an alert system, enabling users to receive real-time updates based on specific events or conditions within their workflow.
Templates:
Users can choose from predefined templates to streamline the setup of email notifications:
Basic Notification: A straightforward template that notifies users when the workflow is triggered, providing quick status updates.
To:
Specifies the recipient email address for the notification. Multiple email addresses can be added to ensure that alerts reach the necessary contacts.
Subject:
Defines the subject line of the email, which can be tailored to describe the nature of the alert, such as Workflow Triggered. A descriptive subject helps recipients quickly identify the purpose of the email.
Body:
The main content of the email. Users can create a custom message to provide context for the notification. For example:
“Your workflow has been triggered! Go to https://app.otomato.xyz/execution-history to view execution details.”
The body text can be adjusted to include relevant instructions or information, making the alert informative and actionable.
Select Variables:
At the end of the setup, users have the option to incorporate variables from other blocks within their automation flow, as well as from any protocols integrated into Otomato. This feature allows for the inclusion of real-time data in the email, making alerts highly context-specific. By selecting these variables, users can create alerts that automatically update based on workflow events, enhancing the flexibility and responsiveness of their automated notifications.
The Email Action block is ideal for building alert-based automations, providing users with timely notifications that are both customizable and data-driven.
